Zee’s Salon & Day Spa was established in 1996.

Since then, we have been committed to providing a modern, elegant experience in hair care and spa services and partnering with our community to share our expertise with those in need.

Our Founder

Zee Ritter has incredible talent, passion and extraordinary experience in the hair profession. She received her Cosmetology Diploma from the Southeastern Beauty College in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1965. From there she honed her skills and knowledge at education events throughout the country and internationally.

She worked at salons including the Naval Training Center Beauty Salon in San Diego, CA, and salons in Florida and North Carolina prior to coming to Roanoke, VA where she built a loyal clientele.

Zee dreamed of owning her own salon and that dream ultimately led to the planning and development of Zee’s Salon and Day Spa, Inc. which opened in 1996.

When she began thinking of retirement, Zee knew she wanted her legacy to continue with the talented stylists working at Zee’s Salon & Day Spa. She and her husband Al, created a Salon Board comprised of master stylists and members selected for their business and leadership skills. This board has ownership in the salon and manages it’s operation… something unheard of in this business.

While Zee is still involved in her role as consultant to the Board, she is happily enjoying “Beach Life” with her husband Al and they both love seeing the Salon thriving with the new generation.

Our Community

Zee’s Salon & Day Spa supports local-for-local community events.

We love to help people donate their hair to “Children With Hair Loss” (a company who make wigs for children) and “Cure By Design” (a fashion show fund raiser for American cancer society). Anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer and is beginning to experience hair loss receives free head shaving and first haircut with new growth at Zee’s.  It is our goal to support and pamper!

Every year we do makeovers for the nominees for “Teacher Of The Year” in Roanoke city schools. We also raise money with cash donations for kids haircuts in August and donate the money to a deserving section of Roanoke city school systems. In 2018, we raised $500 that went to an after school program for at risk and underprivileged youth.

We offer 10% off all services for Carilion employees, active military and veterans, fire / police and other first responders and all Roanoke city and county teachers.
