Since then, we have been committed to providing a modern, elegant experience in hair care and spa services and partnering with our community to share our expertise with those in need.
Our Founder
Zee Ritter is a highly skilled and passionate hair professional with over five decades of experience. She earned her Cosmetology Diploma from Southeastern Beauty College in 1965 and expanded her expertise through national and international education events. Zee worked at various salons across the U.S., including in San Diego, Florida, and North Carolina, before settling in Roanoke, VA, where she built a loyal clientele.
In 1996, Zee opened Zee’s Salon and Day Spa, fulfilling her dream of owning her own business. As she approached retirement, she created a unique Salon Board, comprising master stylists and business leaders, to continue her legacy. Now a consultant to the Board, Zee enjoys “Beach Life” with her husband, Al, while seeing the salon thrive under the new generation.

As an employee owned company, the secret to our success is good leadership, and good leadership is all about making the lives of our team members better.
At Zee’s Salon and Day Spa, Inc we have created leadership opportunities for members of our team to play a role in creating our success and to share financially in this success.
We have a Board that is made up of a diverse group that are successful in their own roles in the salon…but play a huge role in helping all team members set and achieve their goals.

Our Community
Zee’s Salon & Day Spa supports local-for-local community events.
We love to help people donate their hair to “Children With Hair Loss” (a company who make wigs for children) and “Cure By Design” (a fashion show fund raiser for American cancer society). Anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer and is beginning to experience hair loss receives free head shaving and first haircut with new growth at Zee’s. It is our goal to support and pamper!
Every year we do makeovers for the nominees for “Teacher Of The Year” in Roanoke city schools. We also raise money with cash donations for kids haircuts in August and donate the money to a deserving section of Roanoke city school systems. We raise money annually for at risk and underprivileged youth.
We offer 10% off all services for Carilion employees, active military and veterans, fire / police and other first responders and all Roanoke city and county teachers.
